Easy and cheap to make at approximately $1.10 per serving, you’ll think you’re eating a burger from your local diner! Add a side salad (or fries instead, if you can afford the calories) for an economical but delicious dinner!
1 can crescent rolls
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup finely chopped onion or 1 teaspoon onion powder
1/3 cup chopped dill pickles
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons dill pickle juice
2 tablespoons milk
2 cups shredded American cheese
Heat oven to 375°.
Unroll crescent rolls and press into an 8 inch pie pan on bottom and along sides.
Brown ground beef in a skillet and drain.
Stir in onion, chopped pickle, ketchup and mustard.
Sprinkle with flour and add pickle juice and milk.
Cook, while stirring, until bubbly and thick.
Remove from heat then add 1 cup of shredded cheese.
Pour into the crescent roll crust.
Bake for 15 minutes or until crust edges are golden brown.
Remove from oven, top with remaining cup of cheese.
Let stand until cheese on top melts.
Garnish with your choice/s of ketchup, mustard, pickle slices.
