As determined as I was to keep up with my blog, everyday life got in the way once AGAIN and time got away from me. So, I’m back and going to try this again.
Funny how back when I was a child, my parents had time to relax and enjoy family time, even after my mom cooked all three meals from scratch all day long and washed up all the dishes (with no dishwasher, I might add). I remember her being in the kitchen all day cooking breakfast, washing dishes and then she’d immediately start preparing the next meal. My dad was a barber and he started to work at 8 am and would work until 7 or 8 pm every evening. And somehow, they still found time to enjoy life and visit family and friends.
Today, even with all the modern conveniences we have, it seems we still don’t have time to catch up on everything. I’m literally on the computer at least 15 to 16 hours a day, every day, and still feel like I’m always behind on here. However, I’m thankful that I’m one of the lucky ones that has a wonderful husband that helps me around the house. I guess if I didn’t have him, we would have very few clean clothes. haha And yes, I really do let him do laundry but of course he started with his own clothes and learned from experience, since men don’t generally think us women know what we’re talking about. After a few pink t-shirts and underwear, he learned why color separation was necessary. 😀
It just amazes me how much times have changed. When I was a child, we actually played with real toys like Barbie dolls. We made our own Barbie houses from boxes, cut out the cardboard to make windows and made our own Barbie clothes and furniture. Today, our kids and grandkids play The Sims to create their dolls, houses and furniture. Years ago, we had games, real board games. Today, it’s the Playstation, Nintendo Wii, XBox 360 and other game systems. Looks like technology rules. If my kids and grandkids had to go back to the time I grew up, they wouldn’t know what to think!
Well, enough about that. It’s time to move on in today’s world. Until next time…..stay blessed!
